Me... Oh Me... Oh My...

I was born and raised in the small town of Ukiah... My family has lived in Ukiah since the 1800's. My great great grandfather was Carl Purdy, who was a badass horticulturalist and botanist. He also started our fair in town.

I'd say that history plays a large part into my everyday life and how I was raised. My parents were both born and raised in Ukiah. My dad owns a pre-hung door business (test my door knowledge-- I dare ya!) and my mom works for the County. Together they also farm wine grapes... Something that was passed on from my mom's family. I have an older brother... he's a nice dude. He's 10 years older, don't even think I wasn't planned... I totes was! He's a heavy equipment mechanic and lives in Ukiah also.

So I grew up surrounded in agriculture and construction. From 4-H and FFA to Sons of Italy (oh yeah we're Italian) and from learning to weld at 8 to being able to build just about anything, I can say I LOVE my roots.

I grew up super plain, nothing fancy... I got decent grades but I'm no brainiac. I graduated high school and decided to move to FreYes to go to Fresno State! Go Dogs! It was the best decision I have ever made. I got a great education, had a great time and met so many freakin awesome friends! I graduated from Fresno and became an agriculture teacher. It's seriously my passion... I love my kids and I love what I do... I have moved schools a twice (well the first was a long term sub, but still) and have learned so much from each place.

I feel blessed everyday. I love baseball, Disney everything, pinterest, livestock, being crafty, George Strait, reading and eating... Oh and TV, yeah I'm a TV junkie!

I'm also just slightly random... And crazy... And loud... And tenacious... And dedicated... And nuts!
